May Roundup of what's going on with me.

Wow I can't believe another month has flown by it has gone so quickly can you believe!

I don't know if you saw my post a couple or so back but we are moving house, yay! finally! Our move date is set for 7th June and I am so excited. So here it has been mainly all packing like crazy but I have managed to get some arting done too in between I am pleased to say! This is what our spare room looks like at the moment. Total chaos. We have boxes and all kinds of stuff that we have accummulated over the 9 years we have been in this house, all waiting to be shipped out. We just have the daunting bit of unpacking it all at the other end now!

Eeeeeeeek!

Our spare room!!!!!!!

So the weather has warmed up a bit here in England but we are still having predominantly rain. We do get a couple of dry days so you have to make the most of them when you can and I certainly have been. I have been trying to get out in the garden as much as possible and taking the art stuff with me. Or even just chillaxing!

Me and my converse. I love my star laces!

My guinea pigs live inside (the bunnies live outside) but they do like getting out into the garden too whenever they can and as much as they can and it makes me really happy watching them just toddle about in my garden. I can't wait to see what they make of the new garden!

Bertie
My husband makes the most amazing scones. I must share the recipe with you some time as they are faberooney! and what can beat scones, jam, a pot of tea and sitting journaling in the garden. Apart from by the sea side I think the answer to that is nothing!

I am drawing lots of inspiration my just sitting in the garden and being part of nature at the moment. I love the colours and the combinations and I am trying to really draw on nature in my colour pallette. I have had these pansies / violas on my garden table since January would you believe. I bought them in a sale and they were all dry and sad and I have nursed them back to health and now they are going great guns. They are so beautiful.

As warm as it is getting in the day time though the nights are still so cold so I can be seen snuggling with my piggies! They love a blankie to snuggle under too. Truth be told so do I!

Betty and Mummy

Talking of snuggling, I am really getting back into reading "real" books again. I love my kindle and switched over to it but then I was leant a "real" book and have kinda got hooked again. I have realised that you can take "real" books into the bath with you and you can't with a kindle so I might have to juggle the two somehow. It is a shame if you buy the "real" copy you can't get a download to so you can swap between the two. Hey ho! I am pretty sure that the reading is influencing my art too as I have noticed a change, a more fairy tale quality to my artwork with the increase in reading. Do you notice that?

One more thing before I say tooodleloo for now and that is, when you are painting, don't put your water cup next to your cup of tea. Because this happens!!!!

May's Craft Space Envy

This one make me drool!! I love the calmness of the colour and the vintage wallpaper in the background. This one is great to admire and it does look convininent all combined but I do wonder whether the enclosed-ness of it would make me feel boxed in? Great for tidying it all away though!

Did you have a good bank holiday weekend?

We were uber busy packing and sorting ready for the big house move but I did get a quick chance to sit in the garden and do abit of arting. I knocked up a brownie, made a pot of tea and did a really quick page with watercolours. Quick, simple and easy. Just to get my art fix in!

Did you get chance to do any this long weekend?

A page that I really don't like!

Another art journal play for you.

I really don't like the finished article as it were but I thought I would share it with you anyway. I had already started recording the process, then I dropped my camera. Total nightmare. From then on the day kinda went in a weird way but I kept on journalling and I kept on recording and well, I just wasn't feeling it today. You know how you get days like that?

Anyway I felt it important to share with you because I don't think you have to like everything you create right? I thought I would be brave and show it but you don't have to share yours if you don't want to.

Create from the heart for you!

A look into my journals...

In this blog post I told you about how I journal and why I journal so this week I just wanted to show you all of my current journals. I previously showed you a picture of them but I thought I would do a video for you describing them all in much more detail. Of course this is just my current in use journals and not ones that have been completed. I know crazy amount but I bet some people have more than me!

Some exciting news....

I have some exciting news... after months of waiting we now have a (potential all being well) moving date of 7th June. I am so excited and can't wait. I am so looking forward to the house move, I really am. Most of all because I get a bigger kitchen so that I can actually cook and not fall over myself but I also get a room of my very own as my office and art room so we get our dining table back again for family use. Whooooppppeeeee!!

Anyway that does mean that for a little while I may go a bit quiet. We have lots to pack up and sort through and then there is the actual move and I don't know how soon it will be before we get access to the internet again in the new house.

I am going to try and schedule a few blog posts in over the next month so that at least you will have something from me. It may mean that I do go quiet though but don't fear I will be back again as soon as I possibly can.

Wish me luck lol!

How I journal and Why I journal...

Well you know on Friday I showed you a picture of all my journals, well I thought that I would do a video on them but first, in order for things to make a bit more sense, I decided to do a video on how and why I journal. The different ways and forms that journalling takes for me etc. I thought if you knew that about me then everything else would probably make sense there after. Or maybe not as it is me we are talking about here lol!

Anyway, here it is and I hope you enjoy it and it inspires you in some way, shape or form to journal yourself.

Thanks for watching.

Oh and if you wanted to know which photo / blog post I am talking about click here!

Just one or two journals...

We were having a clear up and a tidy up of one of our book cases in the front room that I also use as part of my home office in preparation for moving house as we just don't know when that is going to be. We boxed up a load of stuff and Mr B was surprised by the amount of "just notebooks" that I had and how I refused to let any of them get boxed up and packed as I use them on an almost daily basis.

In actual fact when I saw them all lined up on one shelf together I was a little surprised myself to tell you the truth. These are all my current notebooks and journals. Not the finished ones, they are all boxed up. So I was a little surprised that I had so many on the go.

I might do a blog post or a video on what the journals are and what is in them. You do know I like a good nose at other people's so it is only fair that I do one in return after all!

A sweet little find

Everytime I go into town and I have a little looksy in the charity shops. You never know what you might find and as a mixed media artist I can't afford not to have a look. I was in one the other day and this little cutie caught my eye. I bunnies but I also love the simplicity of it's little face and whilst I don't think it is, to me it has a bit of a retro look. So for the purchase of £2.50 ($4 US) I not only get a little source of whimsy and inspiration but also a place to put my pennies and save up for more art supplies. Win win!!
