Pocket Letter Project Share

Hello, crafty friends! It's Stef here, from the Noveltea Corner, and I am back on the Mrs Brimbles blog sharing a fun pocket letter I made using supplies from the May Brimbles Box.

I fell in love with the Pebbles "Front Porch" stickers that came in the planner subscription box and knew they would be perfect for this pocket letter that I was making for a swap.

I started with an A4 sheet of white cardstock which I prepped with "Antique Linen" Distress Stain by Tim Holtz. I used some Distress Inks and stencils to create a background pattern and then used some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold and pink to add extra elements. Then I cut my cardstock into nine 2.5x3.5 inch cards.

I chose to use a set number of washi tapes - a collection from MAMBI (Peony) and some black and white tapes from my stash for contrast. I layered some washi underneath each sticker.

I pulled out some enamel dots to add to each card for a little bit of dimension, and tiny letter stickers from a Typo collection that I picked up a few years ago.

Finally, I used some tiny word stickers from the Simple Stories Carpe Diem collection.

Lastly, I outlined each card with a Sharpie pen.

I tried to cluster each sticker/tape collection in one section of each card, which I think produced a simple, but classy, look for each card and a cohesive style over all.
I hope that this inspires you to use your Brimbles Boxes and the supplies you have at home to create something fun and beautiful and unique!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Creative Journalling

This month I decided to use my Brimbles Box yet again for journaling! There is just so many great things inside, to use in my journal. The colours for this month were lots of pinks and oranges, which I really can't get enough of at the moment.

I decided to print off some snaps of some recent little adventures and moments that have happened over the past few weeks. This will be my last summer living down south on the farm. So I'm making the most of the little things that make me smile, like finding wildlife and eating an ice lolly on the front lawn with my dog. Seeing as there were lots of summery colours in this month's box, it all worked really well with the photos I chose!

I added a wash of yellow watercolour to the background of the page, and used one of the sticky notes to go behind the photo. I then used lots of the stickers from the Brimbles Box to decorate around this photo. I love the black paint dot stickers! They were so fun to use and the fact that they aren't all identical to one another makes them look like you've dotted them onto the page yourself.
The only thing I used that isn't from the Brimbles Box on this section is the Brown Squiggle Washi Tape.

I had a photo if a recent outfit I wore, and the colours went absolutely perfectly with this page. This photo documents the first dress that I wore this year, it was finally warm enough to ditch the jeans! But being England it was too windy to go without tights!!
I used the Pink alphabet stickers from the Brimbles Box to write out the word 'Bold' and the other alphabet stickers were gifted to me, so I'm not sure where they are from.

This was the first time I'd used enamel dots on one of my layouts too, I'm still getting the hang of these! In reflection I think they may have looked better going horizontally instead, but hey! You learn by making mistakes!
The flamingo sticker is from the box, it's one of Anna's beautiful designs! Then the Pineapple Tape is from Paperchase.

Up here I used one of the journaling cards that Anna designed. I love using these in my journal. I thought the phrase on this one also went very well with the photo I chose. I used one of the flag stickers with ice lollies on, which came in my Brimbles Box and is by Sticker Sunshine.
I also stuck a strip of Watercolour Washi Tape down the side too, as the colours matched really well, and I finished that section off with a little enamel heart sticker!

Last of all I popped this photo down here, I didn't want to go too over the top with decoration here as I was running out of writing space as it is!
This was simply a cow that had me cracking up, any time he lifted his head, he stuck out his bottom teeth. It's the little things about living here that I will miss.

I'll have a process video of this journaling spread coming up in a few weeks time, so you guys are seeing this sneak peak first!

Creative Journaling

geraldinejayne.com

What a happy theme for a stationery subscription box! Especially when our British weather has been a bit bleak lately. I hope this post will add some happiness and colour into your day wherever you are! Again, I went for the subscription box this month. As always it included beautiful pieces of Anna's art work converted onto a postcard and flair badges.

  geraldinejayne.com

A sucker for paperclips, I finally took the plunge and bought a glue gun, just so I could turn just about anything into a functional paperclip! These beautiful flairs were my first test subjects!

  geraldinejayne.com

With pieces of felt roughly cut I proceeded to glue the flairs onto the paperclips. It took all of five minutes, and hey presto! Stunning paperclips!

Also in the box were the cutest little folders. I mean they were tiny! Once I got over how adorable they were, I had an idea of how I could use them in my creative journaling. I would stitch the sides to create a pocket.

Next I stuck it into a journal spread I was working on and put keepsakes inside the pocket, such as receipts and bus tickets.

Below is a video of the process. I hope this gives you some ideas and inspiration of how you could use your Brimbles Box. Or if you don't subscribe but would like to, then check out the various box subscriptions HERE.

Planner Page Decoration

Hello planner friends! I'm back again with another personal planner layout featuring the super lovely Pebbles stickers from the May Brimbles Box.

The Front Porch stickers are perfect for a Spring-themed layout. I love the natural look of these ones against the wood panelled paper (from my scrap basket) with the bright pop of colour from the washi tape (by MAMBI).

One of the best aspects of washi tape is how you can layer it up to get different effects. The transparency of the coloured tape allows the pretty gold dots from the tape in the May box to still shine through, giving it cohesion.

Layering your stickers on top of one another, and across multiple pages also helps to build a cohesive design.

If you'd like to see how this layout came together, feel free to check out my process video below:

As always, you can see more of my layouts on Instagram and on my blog. Until next time, happy planning!

Project Life scrapbooking

Hello everyone!

I'm excited to be back on the Mrs Brimbles blog today, even though I've only got a short little post for you. I thought I would show you, again, how you can use your Brimbles Box supplies for Project Life scrapbooking. I absolutely love how versatile the box contents is! I was even more excited this month, as Anna included several 3x4 cards in a nice thick cardstock. They're super easy to write on with any pen, and the perfect size for pocket page scrapping.

Look how cute those little babies are (don't worry, they're allowed to be in these photos!) and look how fab the 3x4 cards are for backing your photos. The summery colours were perfect for these bright, birthday party photos, and the patterns are so pretty that I didn't really need to embellish at all. I just used a little bit of washi, also from the June box, and some die cuts from my stash.

Here's a funny story for you... don't put a disposable barbecue on your glass garden furniture. I did try and tell my boyfriend to take it off, but as you can see from the journaling, he didn't listen. The letter stickers from the box were great for creating a bold title, and the card had a perfect date spot too,

I used another of the 3x4 cards as a journaling spot, and I embellished these two cards with those adorable enamel shapes from the box, as well as adding some puffy stickers and die cuts from my stash.

So there you have it! Another week of project life documented, using Anna's gorgeous boxes. I hope you enjoyed!

Pockets in your planner and journal!

Hi, guys, it's Stef from the Noveltea Corner. Today I wanted to share some ideas for using the Pink Paislee "C'est Le Vie" mini file folders from the May Brimbles Box.

These folders are perfect for using in your planners and journals and can be personalised anyway you like!

One suggestion is to staple one edge of your file folder and use some washi to seal off the edge. Then simply punch the holes in the other side (number of punches depends on your planner). Embellish as you like - I used some of the Pebbles stickers and some Carpe Diem tiny word stickers.
I use mine to hold my go-to stickers in my personal planner.

Alternatively, you could try your hand at my current go-to favourite embellishment: hand-stitching! I love the look that this creates and I've stuck this pocket into my art journal to hold any bits and pieces I might need!

There are plenty more uses for these folders, and I've got a few more that I can play with - I'm looking forward to putting them into my Project Life and other art journal pages.

How have you used your pockets?

Creating a Mini Scrapbook

Hello everyone it's Zinia here from Abstract Inspiration. Today I want to share with you a fun little project I created using my May stationery box and although it's branded as "stationery" that doesn't mean you can't use the goodies for a bunch of different crafts.

When I first saw the sticker sheets that were included in the box I knew that I wanted to create a minibook with them. The past year my dad has really been into gardening and he transformed our terrace into a little paradise. So I wanted to add the photos of this transformation into a little DIY album.

mrsb-familymini-1

To go with the stickers, I picked some 4x4 cards and frames I had in my stash from an old We R Memory Keepers collection called "Farmer's Market". I was pleasantly surprised to see the stickers matching perfectly with the colors and patterns of that collection.

mrsb-familymini-2

mrsb-familymini-3

I mounted some of the stickers on foam dots to add some more dimension and interest to the pages. I also occasionally added some strips of washi tape. The black and white polka dot was actually included in the October Brimbles Box of last year.

mrsb-familymini-4

mrsb-familymini-5

As you can see I didn't really do a lot more than just adding the stickers to embellish the cards. The designs are so pretty that I didn't need to struggle and over embellish them.

mrsb-familymini-6

The "stories" sticker is also from an older box. You would probably have a hard time guessing which one it was so I'll just say it. It was the November box which was actually Christmas themed. There are so many Christmas and holiday themed supplies you can totally use all year round†it's fascinating.

mrsb-familymini-8

mrsb-familymini-9

I punched to holes on the side of the cards and tied them together with some thin rope. I really love the look of it. It was an extremely fun and easy project to put together. If you don't have printed cards you can totally do something similar on plain cardstock. These stickers are so freaking adorable that will make anything look pretty.

So thatís it. I hope you got inspired to do something fun with your Brimbles box supplies, see you again soon.
