Did someone mention Ice Cream?

Every time I get the chance to indulge in ice cream which is pretty much every night this week (don't tell anyone) I get pretty excited. Do you ever get on a kick about something and you will eat it and eat it until you are so burnt out on it? Yeah...that is me. I am the same way with planner supplies lately and how I craft.

The Mrs Brimbles June box really spoke to my cravings with my planner and my habits lately.
Anna's original art again made into beautiful papers and stickers is just such a treat. I most likely will hoard use the paper for something to make for my planner although I am also a crafter so a cute cheery card for my grand daughter will be a good use of the paper as well. Since there are several sheets I can make some dividers or dashboards with it.

The adorable little clay charm is just unbelievably cute. I plan to deck out my yellow Kikki with this months box. I am going to use the ephemera to decorate the pages. There was a lot of really cute tags and sayings as well as shapes.

Now I will share my spread and the way I used my goodies and then I plan to share a really quick treat since I always like to do some kind of DIY that is easy to make your family will LOVE it!!

I popped a few of the diecuts from the kit on my page as well. There are tons of them in the kit

I threw my first ever clay charm in the mix just because it looks cute with the ice creams! I love these stickers of Anna's especially those adorable clouds and sun stickers, those are my fav's!

Stickers are adorable and the one set is Anna's own artwork. Did you know she has a sticker subscription box too?

Just a little close up of this adorable ice cream cone charm! I love it!

Now if you love mexican food and have ever partaken of fried ice cream you will definitely enjoy the following.

Mock Fried Ice Cream

OMG this is the best thing! Yep you will be running to the store to get your ingredients!

Ingredients:
Vanilla Ice Cream
Frosted Corn Flakes
Cinnamon (Optional)
Chocolate syrup (I used Hershey's)
Redi-whip (cause everything is better with whip cream)

Now I won't share measurements cause come on we all can eat a different amount and if you are having it for one or for a family it will be different. So here is my process.

First I take a ziplock baggie and pour what I think will be enough corn flakes for me, you can add a splash of cinnamon in the bag if you would like it but honestly it is just as good without (I like a lot of crunch and like the excess in the bottom to utilize even more crunch)

Crunch up the corn flakes in the bag with a rolling pin or in my case my fist

Then I take a spoon and scoop up some ice cream and form it into somewhat of a ball and plopped that baby in the bag with all the yummy corn flake particles

I shake it around and even smoosh a bit of it around in the bag to get it covered well.

I put it into my bowl and let the excess fall out into the bowl as well (trust me you will use it)

Drizzle some chocolate sauce onto and squirt some whip cream on top of it and GO TO TOWN! Don't forget to breathe (its that good!)

Scrapbook Layouts with Zinia

Hello everyone it's Zinia here from Abstract Inspiration and today I want to share with you a project I created using the July 2016 stationery Brimbles Box. Now I do understand that the boxes are mainly created for planning but when I saw these beautiful 12x12 exclusive papers I couldn't help myself so I went ahead and created a scrapbook layout.

I actually decided to also play with some mixed media supplies. By the way if you didn't notice, Anna added a bunch of amazing mixed media supplies in her shop recently and I'm using some of them in this layout.

I used one of the pattern papers as a base and I covered the middle area with a very thin layer of gesso. Then I picked some Dylusions paints in Bubblegum Pink and Fresh Lime and I colored a small amount of texture paste. I also created a third color using one of the Tattered Angels Gimmer Mists that I had in my stash.

I applied the colored texture paste on my page through a stencil, creating three lines of color. Once the texture paste was dry, I used matching mist colors with the packaging technique to add some more color on top of the stenciled images.

Then I grabbed a bunch of the ephemera pieces and arranged them on the page following the mixed media colors. I really liked the ice cream that Anna design on the cut apart paper so I decided to cut it out and then use a correction pen to go around and cover the black outline to make it match the design of the ephemera pieces better.

So thatís it. I hope you got inspired to do something fun with your Brimbles box supplies, see you again soon.

Okay, if you know me, you will know I'm a big fan of colour. When I opened this box the first thing to catch my attention were the colours! My senses went into overload! Lol. I went for the planner box this month because I had ordered one of Anna's gorgeous planners, which some of us have affectionately named 'The Anna Planner.'
  geraldinejayne.com

As it's a planner box, you receive a dashboard with one of Anna's very own designs. I absolutely love this quote!

Next, with the washi and stickers, again, all of Anna's original artwork, I decorated my planner inserts. I'm loving the fresh, fruity, summer vibe!

And next my favorite bit. With any new box I get to reorganize my planner pockets! It's good to rotate and freshen up this part of the planner. I think of it as an inspiration board. It also showcases your favorite stickers etc, from the box. As you can see, not only have I included the stickers by Anna, enamel dots, but also the journal cards she designed.

I hope this has given you an idea of how to use your box contents or maybe inspired you. I have yet to use them in my creative journaling! I especially can't wait to used the alphabet stickers! There were LOADS! And again, the colours!! I often upload the creative journaling process on my YouTube channel and Blog!

It's time to reveal what was in the Brimbles Box this month, the month of July! if you haven't received yours yet you might want to stop reading! UK boxes should be with you by 3rd / 4th June and International after that.

This months sticker club looked like this:

Plan With Me - Good Vibes!

This week I wanted to use the June Brimbles kit to create a bright and fun weekly layout. Here in Australia it is currently Winter and this spread makes me remember what it feels like to be warm! If you haven't seen what was in the June box, you can check out my unboxing video here.
As usual, I have some photos and a process video for you, showing how this layout came together.

I really wanted to use watercolours on this layout I don't always use them in my planner, but occasionally I get the urge and just can't help myself! You can see down the bottom how I added a few colours to match the sticker colour scheme. I also layered a transparent washi tape over the top this polka dot washi is my favourite to layer over watercolours because you can still see the colours and it added the extra pop of black to add contrast to all the bright colours!
Note: have a heat tool on hand to help dry your watercolours if you're using reasonably thin paper! Also, Anna has a great set of watercolours in her shop they're not the exact ones that I used, but they're very similar!

I mixed and matched some of the Sticker Sunshine stickers to create my own bunting banner across the top of my inserts. I also used them to add a bit of extra colour to my washi dividers, too.

Hot pink is one of my absolute favourite colours (and I love it with black and white) so I was super excited to use the striped tape that came in the box to add that bright pop of colour to the top of my page.

I like to cluster stickers in places around my spread, and this pineapple is super cute from the Mrs Brimbles stickers.

I took one of the journaling cards with Anna's designs and fussy cut around the flower and punched a hole through one of the petal. It's primarily decorative (and I am partial to having random floating bits in my planner!) but I can also add notes/stamps/etc to the back of it if I need any extra space. It could also be a cool space for adding some journaling.

So that's my layout! If you want to check out the process, click on the video below:

Don't forget to stop by my blog, or follow me on Instagram or Youtube for more inspiration! I will be using this same kit to create a Project Life layout soon, too, so if you're interested, definitely stop by.

Until next time planner friends!

Am I taking part in #onebookjuly2016

If you have no idea what #onebookjuly even is, please watch this video first so you can get up to speed:

I have been asked by a few people as to whether or not I am taking part in 'One Book July' this year. Well I thought I would answer that in a chatty vlog talking about planners and journals...
