Here is a small example of how I have used some of my own design stickers...

Brimbles Birthday...

April is Mrs Brimbles (the Company / YouTube etc not me) 5th Birthday month! Can you believe it, 5 crazy years of planners and journals lol. A lot has changed over this time both personally, for the Company and in the 'industry' in general. I am so grateful to have made it this far and to have such wonderfully supportive followers and customers. You really all do mean so much to me, more than you could probably ever know really.

Anyhooooo.....Throughout the month of April fun things will be going on so if you aren't already in the Mrs Brimbles Happy Place on Facebook please come and join us so that you can take part too.

April will be kicking off with one of my instagram challenges. I have never done one in April so this should be fun. Wanna take part? Keep on reading my friends!

REMEMBER as with all of my daily photo challenges I have designed the prompts to be interpreted in a way that suits you, loosely based on the things that I love: Planners (and planner decoration), Stationery, Journals, Art, Books, food, the season etc. You interpret them however you like but most importantly have fun with it. They are just prompts to help you. Ideally I would like to see the Facebook group filled with photos of your planners and journals so try and challenge yourself! Take them literally if you like or be imaginative. Use them as photo prompts or use them as journalling prompts. Anything goes! It's totally for fun so just share a photo every day. You don't have to enter to win the prize, you can just play along with the prompts for fun, entirely up to you, the more the merrier!

If you want to play along for fun then start posting your photos from 1st April. Remember to use the hashtag: #brimblesbirthday so that we can find your photos and see what you are up to. Grace's Hop to It Planner Spreads:

Hello everyone! Happy March! It didn't exactly feel very spring like at the beginning of the month did it? (particularly for those of us in the UK). But Spring is starting to show itself now, which makes me very happy :D

For this month's stickers I decided to do two planner spreads, both are for this current week (12-18 March). The first is my usual in my personal size planner, with Mini Happy Planner inserts.

There is a Plan With Me video for this spread if you'd like to see it. I didn't do anything too fancy for this layout either, the stickers did the work for me. The pink washi up the inner sides of each page is from the Brimbles shop, and you can buy it/have a closer look by clicking here.

Here are some close ups of this personal size spread:

Then for my second planner spread I decorated inserts in my A5 planner. In this planner I have the 2018 Daphne's Diary planner punched in, and because each week is different and all pages have pretty pictures and patterns, I don't often bother to decorate, or if I do it's very minimal. However, I noticed the theme for this week would match the Hop to It Sticker Kit almost perfectly, as it's both Spring-y and also a bit reminiscent of a pretty pond filled with lily pads.

I don't have a video for this one, so I've taken a few pictures for you to get a good look. I've done the picture's 'before the pen', as I often put a lot of health related things in this planner.

These inserts/planner come with a mini tear out insert each week with a space for a shopping and a to-do list, so of course I decorated that too:

The little frog sat on a rock, pondering away, is my favourite sticker from this month's kit. He just looks so happy and lost in thought. I wonder what he's thinking about!

As always, thank you so much for reading; I hope you enjoyed my Planner Pages for this month.

Hopes & Dreams Art Journal Process

Join me today as I create an art journal page! I am taking part in March meet the maker over on my social media channels and one of the prompts was 'dreams & plans'. I wasn't sure what to post for this prompt photography wise so I sat down at my desk to have a little play with the silk acrylics as I had yet to use them. As I was laying down paint and enjoying being lost in the process I decided to turn this into an art journal page, a place for me to write down my hopes and dreams.

I started with a dry brush and just played with the paint seeing how it went down on the paper. I then used a wet brush again to see how the medium felt. I carried on with more colours layering up and having fun. I then used the paint straight from the nib to make cute dots all over the page. I then used some ink to make yummy drips!

I had a face already painted but used the silks for the hair and it turned out to be a self portrait!

I absolutely love how it turned out!

Creating a traveler's notebook style folio

Creating a traveler's notebook style folio using Anna's Patreon collage sheets

It's no secret that I am *obsessed* with Anna's acrylic pour collage sheets so I wanted to make a project where I could use them everyday.  I have made myself a little traveler's notebook style travel-folio so that I can document my holidays.

This is how I made it:

I took 3 pieces of card, measuring the same size.  You can use any size for this, mine were 100mm by 175mm (I chose this size so that I could insert personal sized travelers notebooks later if I wanted to) as long as your pieces are the same size.  I also cut three thin pieces of card about 1.5mm thick (175mm long) - these are the spines of your traveler's notebook.   I took some masking tape and stuck these together, with a tiny gap between each one so that the card could fold:

I then cut out three pieces of paper the same size as my big pieces of card from Anna's collage sheets and glued these to cardstock, I used washi tape to cover the spines.

Essentially this is it.  I cut some mixed media paper, folded it in half and used an elastic to secure this inside the traveler's notebook - this is for my journaling while I am away.  All you need is another elastic and you can add as many notebooks or pieces of paper as will fit.  I glued in some pockets to the inside of my traveler's notebook so that I can keep receipts and tokens while I am away, and I added a sticker to the front.  It'll probably be decorated a lot more while I am away but for now I wanted to keep it simple.

I hope you like this project, I can see myself making this type of thing again, and altering the size to suit my needs.  I like the idea of being able to choose the collage sheets that best suit my project.
Don't forget to check out Anna's Patreon which includes all of Anna's beautiful collage sheets including these gorgeous acrylic pours as well as art tutorials. You can find more of my art here, on my blog, or on Instagram.

Spring Collage Sheets

Have you ever wondered what my Patreon is all about and what I create over there for my Patreons? Like a lot of artists, part of my Patreon package is collage sheets and I thought I would show you the collage sheets that my Patreons will be receiving in march 2018 so you can have a look, see what I have been creating this month and if this is the sort of thing that could perhaps be for you (please  bear in mind that the art in the collage sheets and the number of collage sheets vary each month but this is fairly typical). If you like what you see why not join in the fun or just follow me on Patreon for my Patreon only updates (updates are free).

You can find me at: https://www.patreon.com/mrsbrimbles

Thank you to my current Patreons who are supporting me as this helps me to be able to create more content for you free on my YouTube channel. Big, Big love xx

Winter Olympics Creative Journal Page

Hello everyone, brrr, it's been so cold. In weather like this I like nothing better than watching the Winter Olympics from the comfort of my warm home. This week I made a Winter Olympics journal page using resources from Anna Brims February patreon downloads, they were just perfect for this. I used to be an ice skater myself from aged 7 to 16 and competed in many competitions and grueling training sessions from 6am, then school and back on the ice after until 9pm daily.

When I saw Anna's ice skater image that she had painted I was gobsmacked at how similar it looked to a photo of me from an ice show when I skated to Wish Upon a Star, so knew it was perfect for my page.

Firstly I printed out the girl and the photo of me, then chose a pink pastel background image from Anna's collage sheets. The pastel colours look so pretty together. Anna also included a February Hygge collage sheet of her own drawings and the Winter theme continued on these.

For table gifts for a planner event that I was attending, I had already created some textured watercolour journaling cards. However, due to the snow I was gutted that I couldn't attend, so used one of the pastel cards on my page instead.

Finally I added some pastel washi tape and a ticket stub that Anna had gifted me in an ephemera swap, then added a bit of journaling about the Olympics. I love the finished page, especially the bit on the right, where it looks like the pink and white icicles trickling down the page.

Do go and check out Anna Brim on her patreon page, her resources are amazing and she now is offering a tier where you receive all the downloads, tutorials and videos as well as a physical Brimbles Box which is making a return.

Take Care everyone, stay warm and stay safe in the snow and ice,
Kerry xx

Another pour!

Today I am continuing my experiments in the World of fluid acrylic dirty pour flip cup technique because I just can't leave it alone I am totally obsessed. I told myself after the last attempts that I would hang my hat up or at least give it a break for a while. BUT. And that is a big but...I just couldn't help myself. I still continue to find myself watching pouring videos so I had to try it again. I still have lots to learn and I am by no means an expert however I am having fun in my experiments and that is always all that counts.

I decided to customise an old Prismacolor tin. I don't keep my pencils in it but I had kept it in case I wanted to at some point. I recently acquired some more watercolour paint pans and I thought this tin would be quite a good size to store them in but of course it needed customising!

Firstly I sanded the top of my tin just to rough it up a bit and give the paint something to grip onto. I didn't bother with gesso I just went for it! I am still not getting those much coveted cells but I like how it turned out and because I used the vivid metallics it has a beautiful sheen when in the light.

All of the supplies shown are from: https://www.colourarte.com/ please do check them out because they are awesome!
