Halloween mini album

For the month of October, I received this amazing Brimbles Box (Personal Ring Planner) and instantly knew that I would be using the majority of these things for a Halloween mini-album instead of in my planner!

I found this tiny 4x4 album and page protectors by DCWV in the clearance section of JoAnn's Craft Store here in the U.S. and fell in love with the size! Even though some of the Project Life cards are larger than the album, I really wanted to use the entire package of Halloween Project Life cards in it... ALL 40 of them!!!

I decided to keep decorations to a minimum since I don't have my pictures to put on the pages/cards yet... I used the 2 washi tape rolls and the Crate Paper "After Dark" puffy stickers that came in my Brimbles Box; I also colored and cut out a few stamped images (from The Greeting Farm).

Here is video of a quick flip through...
(I apologize now for the bad lighting! I recorded at night so the video would be quiet forgetting that I can add music to hide the noise, lol!)

Here are some thumbnail pics of the pages in case you cannot view the video...

And YES, I did manage to use all 40 project life cards!
Except for the 3 little scraps that you can see in the background, lol!

Oh, and I still used the other items to decorate my planner for October/Halloween too :)

I hope you enjoyed seeing my little mini-album and that it inspires you to get creative with your crafty items no matter what they were initially intended for!!!

Setting up my planner for Halloween

I have been seeing all of these gorgeous photos in the planner community accross various social media sites and I was starting to get a little jealous that I didn't have one so I thought it was about time I did. I decided to swap into my white Color Crush planner even though most of the planners I have been seeing have been orange or black. I thought I would be a little different. I haven't had a good play / crafty planner session for ages so it was really nice to play and have some fun and whilst I was doing that I thought I would record what I was doing so that you can see too!

Most of the items that I used for this were either from the October Brimbles Box or were raided from my shop stock (one of the perks of having such things in stock is that you can raid them he he!).

So if you didn't watch the video or just like to look at photos, let me tell you what I did. First let me say that this is actually quite a lot for me to do in one go. Usually I switch and things just seem to get added organically over time. It is unusual for me to just switch and go the whole hog with decoration. Most of it isn't needed I just like it! It felt kinda good to go whole hog but I probably can't add any more as time goes on!

I took the pumpkin charm off of the pen that came with the box and added it to my strap to replace the charm that came with the planner. I think the little pop of orange looks cute there!

I decided to decorate the inside. I used one of the 'reject' dashboards from the Box, the ghostie one. I thought he looked pretty cool! I made a washi on the go card from a Halloween Project Life card and I also added a couple of other cards and stickers just to look pretty.

I stuffed some Project Life cards into the pockets and used paper clips to clip in some bits of ephemera. They serve no purpose other than to look awesome! The bunny clip was made exclusively for the box by Craftin Chaos and I love it. The other paper clips I made out of the Halloween badge flair buttons.

I 'modified' the WP logo a little by adding a pumpkin puffy sticker!

And I also made co-ordinating dividers cut down from the Halloween divider pack.

You remember that lovely shaker dashboard that the talented Geraldine made for me? Well I just had to add that in too didn't I!

All in all I am totally loving this eye candy and hope you do too!

Halloween Scrapbooks

Halloween Goodies {seasaltandpaper.com}

I love Halloween. We all do - it's a family tradition where we get dressed up (grown ups too), we deck the house and garden out, and have a bit of a party. The boys invite what seems to be the whole neighbourhood. We get together to carve pumpkins, eat spooky themed party food, and then head out en masse to go trick or treating *until the children are physically sick. So when Anna asked If I would like some Halloween goodies from her online shop to check out of course I said yes. I knew we would all have a bit of a crafting session and start our party planning off. Here's what Anna sent me...

The packs are absolutely full to the brim of vintage elements such as die cuts, buttons and ribbon. The first thing I wanted to get my hands on where these badge embellishments - aren't they just perfect as paper clips? I also eyed up some of the dividers, they are just the right size to make into planner dashboards. Be sure to check out my decorated planner pages over on my blog.
To be honest, the boys stole everything else! They had several projects on the go at once and I never got a look in! There were no rules. No limitations. They made scrapbooks with the dividers threading the ribbon through to bind them. Next up were party invites, button paper clips and spooky collages. The boys have plans to make their scrapbooks into memory keepers - a place to keep some photos of us all looking a little bit silly in our costumes. Well, who doesn't want to look back and laugh at photos of their goofy parents!?

What will you be making with your little ones this Halloween?

*One year, the boys had collected so many sweets there was enough to fill a pillowcase each! Our youngest thought that he had to eat all of his sweets on Halloween so he secretly munched through them all. What we thought was a huge pile sweets was actually a pile of empty wrappers - that night he became known as 'the human chocolate fountain'.
Please note: The October Afternoon packs are not intended for children 12 and under. Supervision is recommended.
