Fairy tale forest planner

IMG_20171008_153737_215

The great thing about the fall is that there are so many beautiful colors. It also is finally no longer as warm and that has its advantages. I love extremely thick coats and faux fur boots. Not only people dressing warmer, also animals make a natural fur coat as soon as the days become shorter.
  IMG_20171008_154851_968

It seems like everything looks cuter as it gets colder. It's time for thick long-haired cute animals playing in the woods and sniffing around between the leaves. The only thing I miss are gnomes and long-haired unicorns with bird's nests in their moons.

  IMG_20170929_171234_886

Bunnies and foxes that for awhile become good friends because they can suggle up together because of their fur. I imagine a friendly big fairytale forest for with whirling leaves and animals that are hiding in their burrows and collect nuts through the winter. in the evening, the nuts and fruits were distributed among all animals on a large clearing in the forest so that every inhabitant of the woods has a winter inventory.

Ugly Planning

Screenshot_2017-04-25-21-18-28-1

I pimped this month's box heavily... and by 'heavily' I mean I put lots of 'me' into it. I wanted to create a Cambs Planner Con 'vibe.' At least, this is how I hope the next weekend is going to feel like. Lots of planner stuff, happy people enjoying themselves whilst chit chatting about stationairy.

  Screenshot_2017-04-23-18-47-00-1

I discovered that trying to create 'ugly' drawings and planner spreads usually turn out into the most unexpected pretty things. I even made up a '#' named 'ugly planning' on instagram, just to see what happens.

From this month's box I took a 12x12 paper and started using all of my highlighters and felt pens I could find. I honestly didn't have a clue what I started... I just began drawing everything that popped into my mind. variations from abstract shapes to little thingies. At first I thought 'this is going to be a disaster' but I kept on going and filled the whole 12 x 12 page with my own drawings. I felt like a little child again LOL, using Anna's design as a canvas. A canvas doesn't have to be blank at the beginning... it actually helps you start elaborate your drawing.

I cut my canvas into dividers and pimped them even more with Anna's tabs. I had four tabs and I had no idea which titels I would stamp onto them since I am not that busy. Then I thought... does tabs really need an importend title? I think not! I love the fact that tabs are just simply in my planner, looking pretty and give some extra dimention. I put some teeny tiny stickers on them. Look at that busy bee :) btw My newest obsession is zipper planners... they remind me of little suitcases... just so darling!

Planets and Unicorns

Screenshot_2017-03-12-15-11-02-1

They go perfectly together in my world. Go jump on your unicorn and fly through the pastel Galaxy filled with friendly planets and happy stars! Capture your favorite things in your glass jars and collect little fluffy clouds along the way. This is how your weeks fly by and don't forget to write down your favorite quotes and wishes

Just breathe and enjoy this month's Galaxy themed box because... remember... there is always room for more ideas and inspirational things to do.
  Screenshot_2017-03-04-17-53-45-1

For example, for the first time I took a 12 x 12 piece of Galaxy scrapbook paper and challenged myself to cut out a Unicorn head from scratch. (without drawing it first.) This is like drawing without using an eraser. You will surprise yourself!! Your brain designs the shape and your hands will create it.

There is plenty of scrapbook paper in every single Brimble's box so don't be afraid to make mistakes. And I tell you what! Most of the time you get beautiful ideas by making "mistakes". That's why I call them "Happy accidents"

Digital World to Planners!

img_20170203_120815_485

Even if you're not into 'Love' and 'Valentine's day' at all this month's box is absolutely adorable! I cried happy tears when I opened the box.

  img_20170205_120117_961

The pinks and the reds inspired me so much! The ideas are still comming to my mind. In this digital era it is so nice to just sit at your desk and create things with real paper and feel it in your hands.

My boyfriend and I do a lot of digital texting on our phones during the week because we live seperately. So I decided to collect all our sweet messages and make an insert for it in my Traveler's Notebook. This notebook stays on the kitchentable at home so we can write to each other on the fly. I think this is very romantic!

Since I am on a budget I've used Mrs. Brimble's clear sticker bags to create a waterfall shaker dashboard. (the clear bags come in every box) That way you don't need a fuse tool and it becomes very easy to make a dashboard yourself. It took me litteraly 5 minutes te create one. Since these bags come in different sizes you can make a beautiful waterfall effect by layering different sizes up uppon each other. It gives the dashboard instandly much more interest.

I hope I inspired you!
Happy scrappin'

Marble, Golds and Neons.

img_20170114_143546_553

Is it spring yet? I'm so ready for fresh pastels, rainbows, Unicorns, flowers and lots of PINK! Although I must say I'm writing this blog right now and the sun shines strong through my window. I love it! But no spring yet. There's still lots of snow going on over here in Holland.

This months box has a black and white, gold and marble theme an I was thinking 'why not spice it all up with fluor colors?'. This combination turned out very cool and immediately has this 80ties feel to it. For that reason I used my Happy Planner. This planner always reminds me of oldschool planning. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I tend to make everything BIG in this planner. I also made some inserts for my Traveler's Notebook. Wich is my favorite planner at the moment. Well 'the choice' of my fav planner changes every month. I guess 'the marble and gold' fits in any kind of planner.

I made a goals list and it still is blank ... Honestly I am afraid to fill it in because than I have to stick to it. Also my list of goals changes every month... so why not make a monthly goals list and look back every month to see what goals you have accompliched. For me this means I have to immigrate my goals from one month to the next. LOL! The same with checklists.... I really want to check them of... but you know how it goes... LOL Then again that gives me a reason to make new lists to check of... And that's what we call planning... isn' t it?

My biggest pitfall is that there are always changes going on in Plannerland. I'm guilty of wanting to be part of them all... I can't help it. It's part of the planner addiction I guess. The trick is to join it all an NOT spend to much money... Now that's a challange! In fact I think the 'NO SPEND' goal must be the #1 thing on top of my important Goals list, and it immigrates with me every single month of the year :) See you next month

Planner Peace

Since I am in the Planner community everything I see is beautiful planners with fabulous stickers, gorgeous pictures.... lots of PINK, happiness, drawings and designs. It was, and actually is, the 'design' part that attracts me the most about it all. But let's not forget what 'planning' is all about! It's about organizing your life.
  img_20161218_125631
img_20161210_211223

(I'm saying this to me) because sometimes I loose myself in decorating and finding the right colors for my 'spread' instead of actual planning my week and make my planner really fuctional. So this is the part I want to talk about... Of course I want my planner to look pretty and all but I want it to have the function of helping me through the week and accomplish things I have to do. Maybe it sounds obvious to you but for me it isn't.
  img_20161210_1532121
img_20161211_150326
img_20161217_172129

Most of my planners are beautifully manufactured and have perfect quality. For that matter I sometimes am scared to write things in quickly on the go in bad handwriting.... I want my pages to look pretty and flawless. I mean there is a lot of 'planner deco competition' going on on the internet... since I expose pictures of my planners online. Instagram litterely explodes every day with the most wonderful spreads in all kinds of planners. But if we go back to the source of where it al began... it's just about a little black agenda with bad handwriting in it, crossed out words, cancelled appointments.... unreadable little quotes and dingy pages with dog ears.... But no one is looking forward to that when they open their instagram or pinterest accounts. At least I am not.
  img_20161213_202035img_20161218_153647

For me there is a challange in finding myself a way to let my planners be pretty and functional at the same time. Still struggling a lot but I guess I haven't found that 'Planner peace' everyone seems to talk about nowadays. In fact... I hope I don't find my Planner peace anytime soon because... it's all about the journey that makes 'Planning' so interesting.

  img_20161217_173114img_20161211_173623

I'm always searching for new ways to plan and deco my planner and even if I think I found my Planner peace... there will be something itching... and POOOF! Planner peace is gone... But hey! The best part of all this is as long as you have no planner peace there always is room for new ideas in your head and in my opinion that's what counts. I bought myself a black fake Kate Spade Wellesley planner in wich I allow myself to write ugly and slovenly and I force myself to still use washi (even the expensive ones) and stickers because even ugly planner pages deserves some deco. I'm not feeling guilty writing in there in my worst handwriting... and you know what? It actually looks really good! (Ok, there's still a part of me that wants it to look pretty but I'm working on it)

  img_20161214_145902

I guess street graffiti works the same way... sometimes you see a wall full of names and things written accros eachother... it's so messy it becomes modern art... that is how I see busy ugly planner pages with almost unreadable handwritings and stains all over. In fact... that just gave me inspiration for a new 'spread' LOL. Graffiti, streets, city, spraypaint, hiphop.... those are the keywords for a spread I'm thinking of right now. You must know I Looooove the 80ties! That's a great idea to start 2017 with! Still practicing my bubble script to write in tho.

See you next year... oh and have yourselfs a Merry little Christmas!
Love, Brigitte
