Journal Pages / Smashbooking & Memory Keeping

Hello, fellow Brimblers! It's Charlie. I'm excited to be back on the blog!

Today I'm sharing some pages from my journal with you. This is a relatively new project for me - although I do journal daily I don't currently use it as a memory keeper as such. Feeling very much inspired by Anna and Geraldine at the Cambs Planner Con last month I decided I would have a play and a tinker. I've used a standard size insert for my first book. It originally came with my Webster's pages TN but I'm a cahier size kind-a-girl in my main planner so I've swapped it out to use in my journal. Now, there's no denying that it's absolutely beautiful just how it is, but I really wanted to put my stamp on it and add a few embellishments before starting out. So, what do you do when you're starting out? Arm yourself with everything possible! Project life cards, stickers, ephemera, scrapbook paper, washi tape... oh, come on - you know you hoard it all too! p.s don't forget the photos!

I'm super pleased with the way it turned out. It's an awesome way to use up all the pretty ephemera I'd forgotten I had! Plus, it gives me the perfect excuse to pap all the beautiful people in my life. Happy memories in a book - Perfect! Charlie xo

Badass Happy Mail!

One of my new years resolutions is to step up my snail mail game - I haven't been able to dedicate as much time as I would have liked to my pen pals recently so to get back into the swing of things this month I opted for the 'Happy Mail' Brimbles Box. You can check out my unboxing post over on my blog here. My usual tactics of choosing a pretty note card and adding a few goodies were not going to cut it - I needed to send something a little more special. Honestly, how lovely is it when someone really goes out of their way and spends a little more time on hand making something!? Now, I'm not saying that I'm a lazy snail mailer sticking with the minimal (or you are if that's how you roll) - It's that I'm just not a natural when it comes to creative snail mail! So after a snoop around on Instagram for some inspiration, I was able to grab a few ideas. *swoons with all the prettiness*

I took the two Mrs Brimbles Note cards and made them into a booklet securing the longest sides with washi tape. I went with the pattern on the inside because the shiny side is perfect for sticking post-it notes on. I then trimmed down one of the heart print envelopes and glued it to the front page to make a pocket for storing washi tape samples. I had a good dig around on my desk and found some Dear Lizzy ephemera which I received in a previous Brimbles Box. This is the kind of scrap book/project life items which I really don't have a lot of so I am so glad to have some left over. The DIY Shop envelopes from my January box came in handy again too! I used a dab of glue to stick it on the back page using it again as a pocket for stashing away some ephemera, paper clips, stickers and a little bag of foil confetti. Because who doesn't need a bit of confetti and glitter in their lives!? The floral paper from the letter set was such a pleasure to write on and looked right at home tucked inside the booklet. I keep looking at it and adding extras but I think it's pretty much done. There's so much left over in the box so it will definitely keep me going for a while!

For me the 'Happy Mail' Brimbles Box is a no brainer - It's basically a DIY kit with so many options and is made up of unique items which are always perfect if you are unsure of where to start (like me)!
Have you found your creative snail mail style? Maybe it's minimal and it's badass!?

My January Planner Set Up by Charlie

Hey, everyone! It's Charlie from seasaltandpaper.com. Happy New Year! I'm back on the Mrs Brimbles blog to share with you how I've been using my January 2016 stationery Brimbles Box. This month's theme is all about seeing the New Year in with a bit of glitz and glamour, something to help you shine and sparkle your way through the first months of the year. You can check out what products I received here in my unboxing post.
How I'm Using My January Brimbles Box {seasaltandpaper.com}
Setting up my planner for 2016 I knew I needed to jazz up my dashboard. As it's the first thing I see when I open up my planner I like to change it up now & again depending on my mood. After some umming and erring, I decided on making my own 'Project Life' cards using some scrapbook paper. I didn't want to cut the larger size Project Life cards which came with my January box because they are just so beautiful! (The 4x6 Project Life cards would be perfect to use on an A5 planner dashboard.) I rounded the corners with a punch and added some of the Pink Paislee stickers to finish them off. How I'm Using My January Brimbles Box {seasaltandpaper.com}How I'm Using My January Brimbles Box {seasaltandpaper.com} I was super happy to find some gold glitter washi tape in my Brimbles Box - I'm sort of obsessed with pink and gold at the moment! You can attach Project Life cards to your dashboard with glue dots, however, I like to use washi tape to brighten it up, plus it's easy to peel off when I feel like changing the card. They came with little sticky pads on the back so I decided to stick them to a clear plastic Filofax flyleaf so I can have them at hand in my planner. I like that they are mini sized and don't add a lot of bulk to my planner.
To be honest, I LOVE every single thing in the January Brimbles Box. There's not a single item that's not to my taste and there are so many possibilities. Here I've shown you some basics but what I have left over I will be getting creative with. How will you be using your January goodies?

Sweet, Vintage And Organised. 2016 I'm ready!

Hello, Its Charlie from seasaltandpaper.com! I don't know about you, but now that Halloween is over and Christmas is only around the corner I'm thinking about my planner set up for 2016. I've decided on using one planner, yes you read that correctly, one planner only for 2016. Next year I'm using a faux dori with a vintage feel and my September stationery Brimbles Box contained everything I needed to get it all setup. Don't you just love it when you revisit your stash and you realise you have everything you could possibly need!?

{seasaltandpaper.com}{seasaltandpaper.com}

My faux dori fits cahier size inserts and luckily this 2016 diary which I picked up in TXMaxx fits perfectly inside along with two Moleskin notebooks.

{seasaltandpaper.com}

I will more than likely want to take the diary out and chuck into my bag without the notebooks so the first thing I needed to make was a pocket in the back to hold some spare sticky notes and notepaper. The paper pack which came in the September box is so pretty I couldn't decide which print to use - in the end I went with the floral paper.

 {seasaltandpaper.com}{seasaltandpaper.com}{seasaltandpaper.com}

I love how cute the tin pins are, again so fitting considering my theme and super easy to turn into paper clips. Here I've simply peeled them off the card and used the plastic backing to cover the sticky pad behind.

{seasaltandpaper.com}{seasaltandpaper.com}{seasaltandpaper.com}{seasaltandpaper.com}

My notebooks got a quick spruce with some of the stickers from the box. The rest I've kept back to use for my weekly page decoration.

 {seasaltandpaper.com}

I made a page marker by laminating one of the journaling cards and added a yarn tassel - because I'm still very much obsessed with adding a tassel to everything!

 {seasaltandpaper.com}

I laminated a smaller one too and made it into a washi on-the-go card. The geometric and floral mix is just so pretty and matches the diary perfectly.

 {seasaltandpaper.com}{seasaltandpaper.com}

The cute vintage pen is the icing on the cake and finished off my decorating spree nicely. Dare I say it but I may be ready to go!

There are so many things I haven't got around to using yet, September's box was filled with so many goodies! It will all go back in my stash ready for when inspiration hits me. I love the stationery Brimbles box it really does leave it open for you to decide what to make from it. Who knew that I'd be in a vintage kind of mood in December!? {seasaltandpaper.com}

Planner Page Decoration with Charlie

Decorate With Charlie {seasaltandpaper.com}

Hello! It's Charlie from seasaltandpaper.com! I'm so excited to be back today to share with you how I've been using my October Brimbles Box. In this months box I received:

♥ Halloween pumpkin charm pen
♥ Halloween stickers
♥ Pumpkin notepad
♥ Witch Hazel tidbits

I couldn't wait to use this months goodies to decorate my Halloween pages in my planner! First of all, I used the gorgeous washi to give my pages a bit of colour - using a strip of washi on the edge can instantly transform any boring page into something super cute. I haven't got any washi like this in my current collection so it was very welcomed, I'm such a washi tape addict!

The Witch Hazel tidbits set included these divider tags and I simply glued one to the page of the page to make a permanent handy page marker/ mini divider. The kids will be home for half term so I am sure I will be referring back to these pages constantly as we plan out our week together.

I then went on to decorate further using the Halloween stickers and tidbits - how cute are the flags!? I also used the large sticker to decorate my planner dashboard to make it more seasonal.

Of course, I had to use a sheet of the pumpkin notebook and finish off with the cutest Halloween paper clip EVER made by my fellow design team member, Debbie.

Taking inspiration from Anna's post - 'Setting Up My Planner For Halloween' I'm definitely going to go all out and completely kit out my planner this year. Her white colour crush looks adorable and I want in with the cute planner action!

How are you using your October Brimbles Box Goodies?
