Linkys Dream Stationery Subscription Box Unboxing - October 2014

Where does the time get too? Already it is October would you believe and the nights are drawing in fast. Not a problem because firstly I love Autumn and secondly I have my new Linkys box to play with on these long evenings! Yay!

As usual I filmed the unboxing of what I have to say is a box jam packed full of goodies. If you would like to see me 'unbox the box' so you can get a better feel for the items and size etc please do watch the video below, or carry on reading for pictures of the items (please note this is not everything, I don't always photograph all the little ephemera bits and bobs ; )

Right well let me start by saying that there was an epic fail on my behalf...I got so excited by this box that I actually forgot to photograph the outer wrapping, box decoration and the inside of the box so the image you see below is a still from the video. What can I say it was beautiful as always just the lighting was so bad it was hard to capture. I must invest in either a continuous light for filming or a daylight bulb!

What did I get, well so many lovely items is what! Firstly I received an A5 striped notebook which has lovely matching paper on the inside as well as on the outside so I would be tempted to put it in my planner, I am not sure, so many options! Just look at those stickers folks! oh my word I love them so much but I do have a thing for woodland animals particularly bunnies and foxes. I can't decide whether to use those stickers or just hoard them, I am a terrible hoarder for cute stickers! I also received a range of cute paper clips and magnetic page markers as well as a full size washi tape and deco tape - very spoilt!

Next up, for my planners I received this beautiful glittery A5 dashboard. You can't see it all that well in the photograph but it is beautifully white and glittery and it reminds me of snow so I might just save this until winter, maybe January and February me thinks. A pack of paper which I love and is going straight into my personal Filofax right away! A cute card for my personal and also the cutest planner charm. Love!

Ok so what stationery / planner loving gal doesn't love and need sticky notes right? No one which is why I was chuffed to bits with the amount of sticky notes I received. I mean seriously look. Note only is there a lot of them but they are just so cute too! I know I am going to love and use all of those little beauties - all full size packs too!

And last but by no means least was this little lot. I told you there was a lot in this box didn't I! So what is it...I received a disposable fountain pen which I can't wait to try, two fab rubbers (always need loads of those!) a cute mint highlighter (I have never seen pastel shades before so I am loving this) and a correction tape in the shape of a super cute bunny! Awwwwwww!

So all in all yet another super duperly fantastic box. If you agree why not get one too! They are very popular so I would act quickly.

Boxes are priced at just £15 with shipping in the UK at £3, she does ship internationally and the price is dependent on your Country, you just need to get in touch with her for a quote! Head on over to LinkysDream.co.uk to order yours!

I know everyone's boxes are different as she tries to cater to your needs. If you would like to see what someone else got why not head on over to Amanda's blog: She's Eclectic as Amanda has posted what she got too. Beck's from Just Keep Pinning also blogs about her unboxing. Whilst each box is different you get a better feel if you think this is something that you would like to get. When you order you tell Linkys what your tastes are, if you have a planner tell her the size and make or if you don't have a planner then you can just get a box of stationery goodies!

Write with Fizz

I recently received the Pilot Soda pen in a Linkys Stationery Box and I was really intrigued.  I hadn't seen this pen before and I hadn't heard or seen any hype or talk about it anywhere. I can see why it was chosen to appear in my Linkys box, it looks very me doesn't it.

Before opening I decided to inspect the packaging, the whole 'write with fizz' thing left me wanting to know more, it really did have me intrigued to say the least. I really thought that this pen was going to be glittery or scented, something a bit different to the usual ball point pen but nothing was glaringly obvious, well to me anyway. So if it wasn't glittery or scented what was all this 'fizz', 'soda' and 'strawberry' about? Why was it so important to be on the packaging if it had nothing to do with the pen?

Whilst I didn't find it strikingly obvious it in fact turns out that this pen has been recycled from an old water bottle thus making it eco friendly and hence all the terms about 'fizz' and 'soda'. I only really fully appreciate the full weight of this concept when I watched this promotional video on YouTube:

Ok so I have established that the pen is eco friendly and has been recycled from waste plastic drinking bottles, which is great news, I think we are all now more conscious of what we are doing to the planet and I am grateful to see more and more products being produced in a more environmentally friendly way. I did my bit with the packaging and made sure to put it into the recycling of course.

But what about it's credentials as an actual pen? Well I am very pleased to say that it is a very nice pen to use indeed. I am not entirely sure what it retails for but from what I can see from looking in various places online it is around the two pound mark, maybe a bit less. kind of middle of the road, everyday pen in terms of price.

The price doesn't quite translate to the quality though. This little pen surprised me no end. It was comfortable to hold and wrote silky smooth like a dream. I had to stop and check that this wasn't a gel pen, no it was the ball point version although they do make a gel one too. I could quite happily see myself writing all day with that pen, it was devine.

The colour I have is Red which you can see from the test below, does have a pink-ish tone to it, although looking at the packaging I thought it was going to be more cerise, the outer pen plastic and the strawberry on the front led me to believe this but no definitely more red than pink. Having looked on the Pilot website these pens are available in: Blackcurrant, Ice-mint Blue, Strawberry Red and Lime Green. I have to admit I would love to try all the other colours, especially the blackcurrant. The marketing department did their job well there, I mean who wouldn't be tempted to try a pen with a name like blackcurrant, a coloured pen at that...full of temptation and promise. I hope I can find one somewhere.

Now then, what everone in the planner and journalling community want to know is about the bleed through and how the pen takes to paper. I can tell you that this writes very smoothly and glides over the surface of many paper types so no problem there - I tried it on various types just to make sure. In terms of bleed through, you can see from the image below that even on the thin Filofax paper this is minimal and I did press quite hard.

To add to the eco credentials this pen is also refillable but I have yet to test that because it has lasted really well so far.

So definitely a thumbs up from me and a pen that I defiitely will be using lots of and want to buy more of. However I still can't help but feel disappointed that it wasn't glittery or fizzy. I think they were a bit too happy on the packaging but then how else would they get you to buy what looks like an ordinary pen?

I just thought I would share this with you as it is not everday that you stumble upon a gem like this.

Linkys Dream Stationery Subscription Box Unboxing - September 2014

Well it is that wonderful time of the month again folks, the time when a lovely courier lady knocks on my door and hands me a beautifully wrapped package which I know is going to be jam packed full of yummy stationery goodies and goodies for my Filofax too! I am a bit late in sharing this with you this month but if you saw my 'an update from me' post you will understand why.

If you would like to see me 'unbox the box' so you can get a better feel for the items and size etc please do watch the video below.

I have the help of my glamorous assistant Mr B to help me with the unwrapping part so you will get to see his hands.

So lets crack on. Firstly I just want to talk about that outer wrapping. Aren't the unicorns just so pretty, I love them. I always show you the packaging as I think that is just as lovely as the inside!

And on the inside yet more lovliness. Hot pretty are those mint pompoms and those purple butterflies. Excuse the pun but they gave me butterflies alone! In fact if you watch the video you will hear Mr B say 'it is like Christmas'. I didn't ask him to say that he just spontaneously said it so you know it has his seal of approval!

So what was inside the box? Well there was the usuasl sewquins, pom poms and sweeties which make my heart go boom every time. Then there was a selection of lovingly wrapped items in the cutest rainbow and cloud tissue paper. I know I am like a stuck record sometimes but I really do love my clouds (bunnies and stars!). I absolutely ADORE these cloud sticky notes and cloud eraser. I don't even know if I will be able to use them, I might just have to look at them!

There was a lovely selection of project life journal cards which I love to use in my journals, a cute little butterfly notebook and a selection of cute kawaii papers.

For my personal size Filofax I got some adorable butterfly lined paper and a fab dashboard. I love the geometric design.

What other yummy bits? Oh yes some super cute stickers, just look at those bunnies! Washi tape sampler, two paperclips and a Pilot soda pen which I am really intrigued about.

And lastly but by no means leastly as I love everything in my box, for the arty / crafty person in me I get an alcohol blending marker, a pain brush (can never have enough of those - I use and abuse mine!), washi tape and an ink pade in the most gorgeous purple colour.

So all in all another fantastic box. If you agree why not get one too! They are very popular so I would act quickly. Themed Christmas and Valentine's boxes are ready to order now too!

Beck's from Just Keep Pinning also did an unboxing video on her Youtube channel. Whilst each box is different you get a better feel if you think this is something that you would like to get.

Doodling on your pages / Decorating with doodles - Filofax Friday

Last week I shared with you the pages that I had created as part of the Filofax Blogger Challenege to 'Pimp my Filofax'. Firstly before I go any further with this week I just wanted to say a massive massive massive (yes three massives') to everyone that voted for me. The competition was incredibly fierce with some amazingly fantastic entries and so I am very blessed, honoured and grateful that you voted for me and I am delighted to say that I came second. This is great news for me as this now means that I will be sent three brand spanking new Filofaxes from Filofax which I am able to give away to you guys! Whooop whooop! What I will probably do is give two away on the blog and one over on instagram so if you don't follow me there go and follow me so you will know when this goes live.

Also a big congratulations is due to DIYFish for coming first and also to my fellow runner up Letters in November, both of which will also have Filofaxes to give away so if you don't already follow their blogs you might want to. So watch this space for further details which I am sure will not be that far away!

So on to this week and following on from last week where I showed you the pages that I created, I had a large number of people asking for more help, ideas, share on how I created the pages and how I doodle on my pages. In fact I get asked very often about page decoration and how I decorate my pages in general. I am thinking of maybe doing a page decoration video every month or so what do you think? Let me know if this is something that you would like to see.

I am always happy to respond to requests for videos and blog posts wherever and whenever I can,  you know me I just love sharing and interacting with you. Apart from the bunnies, your second favourite page layout I created was the clouds. I decided not to show how I created the bunnies as I have previously ran a 'how to draw a bunny' series and I thought this would be a bit repetitive. If you would like to see this tutorial then please click here. That being said if you do really really want to know then I would be happy to share.

So on to the clouds. In the video I share with you how I created my pages from start to finish and I also talk about doodling on your pages as you go / once your week is already in progress and you want to fill in the gaps with your doodles.

I have said a few times now that doodling on pages is how I first started with my Filofax decoration and also how I ended up selling my inserts on Etsy. It is the roots for me and is what I know. I never had a single roll of washi tape until my birthday in February of this year. I now have quite a few but that is by the by lol! I also rarely used stickers. I live in a very small village and my nearest town has no where to by stickers, even the supermarket has a poor selection and so other than buying online and paying a lot for postage stickers were not a readily available option for me. I am also a massive hoarder and can't bear to use / waste some of the stickers that I really love! I know there are other people out there with similar sticker hoarding tendancies lol!

So doodling for me is what decoration on my pages is all about and it is what I love to do. I love to doodle anyway and I regularly sit and doodle whilst on the phone or whilst working. If you do that too, you will start to see a pattern emerging. The shapes and pictures that you doodle whilst you are engaged in another activity are what your subconscious and the real true you enjoys. Save your doodles and go back to them, they will help you to formulate ideas on what you want to pull through into your Filofax decoration.

For me bunnies, clouds, stars and hearts always appear. Everywhere!

So clouds are a natural thing for me, I love looking at them and I love drawing them. I incorporate them into my art journal, they literally are everywhere around me so it makes perfect sense for me to bring this through into my Filofax decoration.

So I started off with a fresh pair of pages. These are the ones that came with the Filofax for the Pimp my Filofax challenge.

I do love to add a bit of washi tape in especially as I now have a few rolls. I know lots of you enjoy using washi tape too. I love it for adding a pop of colour or a pretty design. Washi tape in itself can help to spark inspiration for your overall decoration.

I also like the rain and find it very inspiring, the washi tape that I used hear is in a rain drop pattern and I purchased it from The Idea Owl. If you don't already know The Idea Owl also has an instagram account where she posts pictures of items for sale and you can add to your package and she sends you your paypal invoice once a month to get the items. I love the teal, yellow and purple combination - some of my favourite.

The only thing with wider washi tape is that it can infiltrate into your space that you may want to write on. You can write on washi tape but you may not want to. I do bear this in mind when I am decorating my pages.

I also like to use thinner washi tape as this doesn't take up so much of the paper. I used tape in co-ordinating colours that my penpal very kindly sent me recently and they match perfectly!

Next I add in some doodles.

I usually like to have a to do list section somewhere on my pages and I like to have this in keeping with the theme. In this case I drew a cloud shape so that I could seperate my to do's from my appointments. I also dew in rain drop shapes to use as my tick boxes.

And then come the clouds themselves.

I like to use pencil to colour in my doodles on my pages for two reasons. Firstly you don't have to worry about bleed through and secondly you can write over them really easily if you need to. I coloured them in blue as this was the first colour that came to hand whilst videoing but if I thought about it I would probably use a more co-ordinated colour and my doodles always have rosey cheeks, that is just a given! I just use fairly cheap children's pencils, not too cheap as they are scratchy and you really have to work at the colour but you don't need to spend a fortune. In fact using doodles and pencils are the cheapest way to decorate your pages over and over again!

Other items shown in the pictures in case you are interested:

Pen - Uniball Signo
Pencils - WHSmiths
Pencil Case - Taupe Polka Dot from my Etsy Shop
Fox Rubber / Eraser - Linkys Dream (in my July stationery subscription box)

I really hope you enjoyed my take and thoughts on how I decorate my pages with doodles. Please do let me know if you would like to see more videos and blog posts on this line and I will do my best.

Have a great week and see you soon!

Linkys Dream Stationery Subscription Box Unboxing - August 2014

Well it is that wonderful time of the month again folks, the time when a lovely courier lady knocks on my door and hands me a beautifully wrapped package which I know is going to be jam packed full of yummy stationery goodies and goodies for my Filofax too! I sign as quickly as I can and then dash upstairs to start the unboxing. No matter what I am doing it can wait, I have to see what is inside the yummy box.

If you would like to see me 'unbox the box' so you can get a better feel for the items and size etc please do watch the video below.

So let's get cracking, of course again the box came delightfully wrapped / packaged both inside and out.

And then on the inside there was a mixture of individually wrapped items and other little bits and bobs along with sweeties, gotta love the sweeties and my all time favourite, which Linkys knows that I adore...pompoms!! Linkys knows I am collecting a jar of pompoms and there were a lot extra in this box so I think she through some more in for me which I lurrrrrve! I just need to buy myself a really big beautiful jar to put them in now. I really liked the big pink postcard, it made me smile so much, such a lovely thing to read and be faced with.

So what did I get... well I got a plaque for my craft room which you can see on the below left, that is just so me isn't it! One thing I really wanted to point out and what makes the Linkys box stand out from other boxes is that she takes the time to really get to know you and your likes and then tailors the box to suit you. This box could not be any more suited to me! You know I have a love for journalling, art, Filofaxes and Stationery and this box was a mixture of all of that. Just perfect. I also received a journalin hot pink with beautiful cream paper inside and a set of mini colouring pencils in a tube which is just perfect for travelling with.

I also received this super cute foxy rubber which matches my fox dashboards perfectly. There was also a full size washi tape, turqoise pen and pack of note papers. All of which I love too. There is nothing in this box I don't!

Next up, goodies for my Filofax... a set of handmade dividers for my personal size Filofax (oh when you order if you have a planner, and want planner goodies just make sure you tell her what size you would like, if you don't have a planner and just want stationery you can get that too!). I have never tried tabs on the top so I am excited to try those. There was also this stunningly gorgeous charm with flowers and a watering can, super super cute!

Then lastly but by no means leastly, I received two rubber stamps, a cloud paper clip and various project life cards, post its, stickers and just general lovely little bits and bobs. It is the extra little bits and bobs that just help to make this box all that more special I think and all of them will be put to use in some way, shape or form.

So all in all another fantastic box. If you agree why not get one too! They are very popular so I would act quickly. August is already sold out and September is getting limited. If you do miss out for September then you can always order October, November or December. In fact why not tell your loved ones to order you a box as a Christmas present? Perfect for any stationery or planner lover.

If you would like to see what someone else got why not head on over to Amanda's blog: She's Eclectic as Amanda has posted what she got too, that way you get a better feel if you think this is something that you would like to get. I love the pencil case that Amanda got, very jealous there lol!

I am off now to start using some of the goodies, I know exactly what I am going to do with them but you will  have to wait to find out more...

Linkys Dream Stationery Subscription Box Unboxing - July 2014

Hey guys, it is that time of month again when my door mat is smiling, why? It is Linkys Stationery Subscription box time again! Whoop whooop! I cannot tell you how happy this little (well as it turns out, not so little) box of goodies makes me feel. I mean for a starters just look at the way it came! A delight even before you open it, just look at that yummy cupcake wrapping.

I loved this box and I just knew I would from the outer wrapping. I am such a packaging nerd I can tell you so you can imagine my utmost delight to open the box to find that everything was so lovingly wrapped in the cutest miffy tissue paper. The bunny fan in me practically bounced off the walls! I really don't know how she has the time to do it but pretty much everything is wrapped. By hand. By Leah herself, I tell you Leah, I really do appreciate it, it really is like Christmas.

So on with the unboxing, what did I receive? Well in every Linkys box there are always little bits and pieces like confetti, sequins, pom poms, feathers, that kind of thing and I just love it. I collect it all. You also always receive a confectionery item of some sort and she always pops other little goodies to discover in amongst the packages like paper clips and notelets, lots of nice little bits and bobs.

On to the main items or wrapped items. I received a froggy pen which is in the same style as other pens that I have had from Linkys, super cute and really good quality and they fit very nicely in a Filofax pen loop too! There was also glitter washi tape, a roller deco tape and cute little sticky notes and flags. I also received Martha Stewart Dew Drops which I have heard so much about and seen other people using but I have never actually used any myself so it will be interesting to see how I can incorporate them into my organising and the star stickers will come in handy for prioritising tasks or important dates and as symbols go I do love my stars!

I received some lovely items for my A5 Filofax. I received two super cute bunny dashboards, one super sparkly dashboard and a lovely animal print fly leaf. I also received a pack of beautiful paper, hole punched and ready to go which is just perfect for the Filofax that I use as a journal. I love it all and can't wait to pop them in my Filofax.

I do have an utmost favourite item though and that is the Little Miss notebook not only fun and so me but it is also really good quality. I will without a doubt, put that to good use along with the coloured pencils... I am thinking hobonichi or fauxbonichi style! Also included were project life sized cards which are perfect as journalling spots in my journals or as little notelets in my Filofax.

If you would like to see me 'unbox the box' so you can get a better feel for the items and size etc please do watch the video below.

Wasn't it a fantastic box? If you agree why not get one too! I would hurry if you do, I know at the time of writing this that she is all sold out for July and August is selling out super fast too. There is a limited number of each box but you can buy any month (going forward) right the way through to the end of the year.

Don't worry if you are not a Filofaxer but just a stationery lover, you don't have to have the Filofax related bits! If you got a Linkys Box and have done an unboxing do leave me a comment as I would love to see what you got too! I know you shouldn't with the time away but I really can't wait until next month now...

Linkys Dream Stationery Subscription Box Unboxing - June 2014

Last month I came accross Linkys on Instagram as you know and Leah very kindly sent me one of her subscription boxes for the purposes of a review / unboxing which you can see on this post here.

Well I fell in love with the box and the concept and the packaging and well quite simply everything about it. I loved it and have used pretty much everything that came in the box so I decided to make a purchase for this month, in fact I have also purchased for next month too. That is one of the things that I really like about the box is that you can order and pay on a month by month basis so if you are going on holiday or can't afford it one month then you don't have to buy it. You always have to purchase  a month in advance though, for instance I purchased my July box at the end of May. If you wanted to check the box out for ordering one for yourself you can on Linkys Dream website. The box is £15 plus delivery.

So on to the unboxing for this month. I did an unboxing on video if you would like to see the products as the come out or continue reading for stills!

I say it a lot but I love my packaging and it does really effect how I feel about the end result or the product contained inside. I know I am a marketeers dream! I really love how when you open the box, it is like a beautiful luxury gift all enclosed in pretty tissue paper and then when you get past that most of the items are all individually wrapped. It makes the enjoyment of the box so much more exciting and I love that. It is fun to discover each item rather than just see it all laying there. I think you will have to agree it looks so inviting and just asking for the paper to be ripped off...

So on to the items that I received. This is in no particular order although I have to say my favourite item in the box was the set of sticky notes. I love foxes. OK my all time fav thing is bunnies but next to that I am also obsessed by clouds, rainbows, stars and foxes, a little random fact about me but there you go, now you know. These sticky notes are super super cute and come in four different sizes. I especially love the diet cut foxes, they are just adorable and already I can see that I am going to be using them on weeks when I use my fox inserts and actually I can go to town with a fox theme in my Filofax one week as I can also team them with my woodland stickers and fox paper clip. Man I can't wait for that. Shame it is summer as these are a little bit Autumnal. I can't decide whether to go with it now or to wait for Autumn, either way they are going to look so fab! Also as you can see in the right hand picture, I received two pens.

As I mentioned above, I love clouds and I have been eyeing up washi tape with clouds on for a while now as I have seen it loads on instagram and around social media but have never gotten round to getting myself some. So you can imagine how excited I was to find some in my box this month...argghhhh! Exciting! and that will go rather nicely with my cloud page marker which I got from Peppermint Doxie on Etsy who incidentally has a set of cloud dividers that I have my eye on but I am resiting as I have spent too much on stationery this past month and I need to be good and reign it in. I am also loving the pastel striped tape and the washi samples. Until February of this year I did not own a single roll of washi tape and now I am addicted! Included in the box was this to do list pad and also more sticky notes and notes paper.

last but by no means least, I told you these were in no order, I received a set of post its with cute little flowers on, a set of pockets, a planner charm and a Filofax page marker for my A5, which incidentally I already have a divider in my planner which matches so this is going to be right at home. One of the other things I love about this box is all the other little bits and pieces you receive which I haven't photographed. Leah always includes little stickers, paper clips, rubbers and other little goodies like that which are super cute and really fun.

So there we have it folks, another box which I am really very pleased with and I can't wait to put everything into use.

Linkys Dream Stationery Subscription Box Unboxing - May 2014

I came across Linkys (Leah) on Instagram when I saw several people reposting photos of a giveaway that Linkys was running. Of course I am not one to find an instagram account full of lovely Stationery photos and not follow it am I now! I love instagram and love looking at all the photos that are posted on a daily basis.

One day I was perusing instagram to see that Leah had posted a picture of the packaging that she was sorting out for her new stationery subscription box. Wait. Stationery subscription box? As you know if you follow me on my Mrs Brimbles YouTube account that I had previously shared an unboxing of a stationery box, well that particular subscription service is no longer going ahead so you can imagine how thrilled I was to find another one just starting up. So I contacted Leah and said that I would be interested in signing up and we got chatting as you do and Leah very kindly offered to send me a box so that I could post an unboxing for you so you could see what you could expect from one of Linky's Stationery Subscription Boxes.

Linkys Stationery Subscription Box - the outside!
I can't tell you how excited I was, it was like Christmas and being a kid in a candy shop all in one go. My excitement in the video really is genuine as the box was delightful. I have an unboxing video for you below if you would like to see my reaction and the products that I received in scale etc

I also have photos of most of the items that I received below. I think I have included everything in the photos, I got too excited and started using the items and distributing them around my desk, silly Anna!

I have to say that I am really very impressed with this box and I will be subscribing, I really can't wait until the next ones arrive and of course I will do an unboxing of those too!

I love packaging I have to admit. I think the way something is packaged totally influences how you feel and what you think about the item within. To have something so beautifully wrapped with all the special little touches inside really made me feel so special.  I loved all the cute sequins and confetti and the pom poms were a really cute and quirky idea. The sweeties I have eaten whilst writing this blog!Yummy! I think a lot of companies could learn a thing or two from Linky's on how to present their items. It made me feel very happy indeed.

The packaging inside was super cute and I loved it!
Everything was beautifully, individually wrapped but here is what the box looked like althogether in its unwrapped state. I didn't photograph it all wrapped up as I busy too excited filming!

the goodies I received, all unwrapped.
So what did I get? I was over the moon with the items I recieved. Please do watch the video if you can as you will see all the items in a much clearer and in depth way.

1. Two rolls (full rolls) of super cute washi tape
2. Pack of paper, hole punched and ready to go for an A5 Filofax / planner
3. Pack of cute stickers
3. A page marker and dash board for a personal size Filofax

5. Two cute notebooks
6. Two pens and two packs of sticky notes
7. Various ephemera
8. Other cute little bits and bobs like stickers, paper clips and deco tape.

I think you will agree that it is all pretty exciting and fabulous! If you are interested in finding out more about Linky's Dream stationery subscription box then please do get in touch with Leah on the following email: linkysdream{at}gmail.com You can also find Linkys here:
