My 'ordinary' Day in the Life with my Filofax

A couple of weeks ago I announced that I was super lucky to be able to get involved with the latest Filofax Blogger Challenge...'My Day in the Life' using one of the Filofax e-tech accessories, the pennybridge ipad mini case.

So Jon and I had a blast working together. I spent a couple of days using the case and working out what I was using it for and when etc and then based on that usage we set up a little photo shoot! It was so funny, I couldn't stop laughing!

So here are my challenge photos and my quite ordinary day in the life...

What do you think of my crazy bed hair then lol!

Voting is now closed, I am sorry guys but the images went up on Tuesday evening and I thought there would be about a week but it actually closed on Thursday evening and I had this scheduled for Friday as I always do with this type of post. Sorry I didn't get to tell you about it in time for you to go and vote for me but if you would have voted for me I would just like to say thank you anyway lol! A massive congratulations to Amanda from She's Ecelectic for her winning entry...

and also to Charlie from Hey Charlie for her runner up entry...

You both got my vote girls (well actually I hit the like button on all of the photos as I thought everyone deserved to win!)

I just wanted to thank you all so much for reading my little blog because without you reading my blog I wouldn't be able to take part in a blogger challenge. Here is my video with me chatting about the challenge etc...

We were allowed to keep the case sent to us to use in the challenge but as a thank you to you guys I would like to give it away to one of you. If you would like to win it then  you just need to enter your details into the rafflecopter widget below. Please bear in mind that this is an ipad mini case and will only fit an ipad mini!

How is the Christmas planning going?

I just thought I would check in with you all to see how your festive planning is coming along? I have to say that I did loads back when I was doing my planning series with you in October and then I didn't do any. I am just now picking it back up again for a couple of reasons. Firsly now we are actually into December I am feeling super festive and secondly we now know a lot more about what we are doing over Christmas so that all helps.

Here is my to do list or what I need to crack on with:
  1. We still haven't sorted our Christmas cards out as we still need to get our photo shoot done. I am waiting on a prop which will hopefully be here this week so we can crack on with that. It means that cards will go out much closer to Christmas than I had hoped but that is just the way it is.
  2. We need to finalise plans with our friends. We talked about where we were going and what we were doing but we now need to finalise all that.
  3. We now know that we are hosting Christmas day dinner / lunch for my outlaws errr I mean inlaws, so I need to work out what we are going to be eating and all that jazz!
  4. I want to start doing some Christmas baking so I am going to work out what I want to make and when and I might throw some crafty projects in there too.
I am taking part in VLOGMAS over on my vlogging youtube channel (vlogging everyday in December) so if you wanted to come and follow me around over there you will get to see day by day what I am doing and how my planning preparations are coming along. I also hope to check back in with you again either on my Mrs Brimbles YouTube channel or again on this blog with more planning as well as the continued decoration (you know already that my dashboard advent is in full swing!).

I love the decoration aspect of it all just as much as the planning. It gives me a lot of pleasure to decorate and get creative and I know that I am not alone in that. There are lots of things out there on the market now to help you not only with your planning but also with your decoration aspect. I love graphic design elements very much and I love these printables from Black Forest Designs. You may remember that I featured her on my blog back in August and I just really genuinely love her designs. I very much love woodland creatures and deer especially at Christmas and I think this deer design is stunning, so jealous I didn't design it lol!

To help you out with your continued planning, the very lovely Noemi from Black Forest Designs has very kindly offered a giveaway of some of her Christmas planning printables. There will be three winners, yes a whopping three, who will get to win a set of her Christmas printable dividers and also a set of her printable Christmas gift & wish list pages. Noemi has a blog too which you can find at: http://blackforestdesigns.blogspot.ro/ and she has some beautiful printables and photography to look at over there!

If you would like to win all you need to do is enter your details into the rafflecopter giveaway widget below and follow Black Forest Designs on Facebook. For an extra entry you can also follow / favourite her Etsy shop. It is as simple as that. Three winners will be chosen at random

By submitting an entry to this giveaway you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

  • Open internationally
  • You must be over eighteen years of age or have parental / guardian permission.
  • The prizes stated above are the only prize(s) - no cash alternative.
  • Three winners will be chosen at random and notified by email. Winner(s) will be announced on this page on the rafflecopter widget after the closing date.

  • Your email address will be added to my newsletter database - I will not sell this to anyone else nor will I constantly be spamming you and you can unsubscribe at any time!

PLEASE NOTE: This review is my own personal opionion on the product / company, given in good faith. This is not a paid for post but Noemi did ask if I could run a giveaway for her & because her products are amazing I said yes. The images in this post have been supplied by Noemi / Black Forest Designs and used with permission. None of the links are affiliate links.

Kawaii Product Review: Kawaii Lucky Dip Club

You know that I like my Kawaii items, I have been sharing various products of late. Well I was contacted by Rainbow Beauty the people behind the Kawaii Lucky Dip Club if they could send me some items for review. I do like to try out new things to share with you all so I said yes!

All of the items they sent me are handmade and all of them are Kawaii inspired / related as you would expect with the name Kawaii ; )

The first item that they kindly sent me was a charm / key ring.  It is fun and cute and I immediately thought that this would look sweet as a planner charm. What do you think? It comes on a black cord which you could use on bags and phones too but being the planner person that I am putting it on a planner was the first thing that sprang to mind!

Now then, one key thing to mention about this charm which really adds to the appeal for me is that is is actually an eraser. The idea behind this product is that you can add this to your pencil case, or in my case my planner and never have to loose your eraser again. Very clever I thought! I am always loosing my eraser so this is pretty nifty. I haven't tried using it though so I am just going on idea and looks alone.

The next item that they sent me is a phone strap. There is a big 'handle' is that what you call it? Maybe wristlet is a better term? I am not really sure what they are called to be honest, anyway, big enough to be able to put your hand through lol. I personally don't use phone straps but I am thinking that this would be pretty cool as a camera strap as I always seem to have a camera around whilst I am vlogging away so this would be great. I wouldn't have to worry about dropping it as it would always be safely around my wrist.

Now this is just my personal taste and nothing against the product, but I am not keen on the large bell. I think it would irritate me a little but you could easily take it off if you wanted to. You may like the bell, everyone has their own personal tastes and the beauty with this is that you can customise it to suit you. You could even put more charms and things on if you wanted to because the ring is big enough to be able to do that with.

The strawberry is wooden and is just darling. The little strawberry face very much appeals to my love of Kawaii food items especially fruit! Again my little brain whirrs away and I am thinking he would make a cute planner charm!

And very lastly they sent me two rings. They are very sweet although I couldn't try them on because I have podgy fingers at the best of times and following my recent accident my fingers on my left hand are huge, hence no photo of me wearing them!

They are cute and if you like your dress rings then they are perfect. For me they wouldn't be an everyday wear as I couldn't cope with anything too big and bulky or dangly but for going out they would be fab! I love the mint colour of the bow and the fimo marshmallow is very cute!

Planning for Christmas - Gifts - Filofax Friday

I am back for the very last in my planning for Christmas series.

I like to try and stay organised when it comes to presents and the main reason that I do this is so that I don't go overboard and really silly! I often buy gifts quite early in the year. If we are on holiday in August and I see the perfect gift for someone I will buy it and put it away but I like to log it down so that I remember I have it. I also like to log the presents that I have bought as I often buy a lot online and it just reminds me to check that they have all arrived safely.

I love to buy gifts for other people, it brings me such joy to choose a gift, wrap it and then deliver it. Except I am really bad at accepting gifts, I don't really know why but I often feel that people shouldn't waste their hard earned pennies on me. Jon was watching a DO lecture and there was a fantastic quote in there which really hit home to me:

"If you can't allow yourself to receive you deny others the ability to give"

It is so true. If I don't let people give me presents I don't let them experience the joy in giving a gift that I experience when I give a gift! So this year I am very open to receiving shed loads of presents he he! Only kidding or maybe I am not ; ) So to help me I have got my letter to Father Christmas template that I am going to use. You can use this too, just download it from the download section below!

More Kawaii Goodies!

Do you remember the Kawaii Box Unboxing that I did a little while ago? Well I am back with more Kawaii goodies from the company behind the Kawaii Box...Blippo.

So what did I get...

Firstly in my box of goodieswas the cutest little Hello Kitty plush charm. On the website it says you can use it as a bag charm but I actually really like it for just sitting on my desk. I am one of these people that when I am at my desk thinking of reading something I like to be fiddling or playing with something. I don't know why but I have always done it, usually it is pen clicking but this little cutie is just so tactile and fits perfectly in my hand so I am using it as I mini stress ball!! It is super cute though, especially if you are a Hello Kitty fan like myself. I don't actually own that much Hello Kitty stuff surprisingly so I am delighted by this. I don't know if I could put it on a bag, I wouldn't want to risk loosing it because I love it so much! It is really very well made too!

The next thing I received was the Meiji Gaburichuu DIY Candy Kit. I have to confess to not knowing what this was or what to do with it so I had to go onto the Blippo website to see. Luckily for me they have a YouTube video which shows you what you need to do. All the instructions are in Japenese and I couldn't work it out from the pictures alone but the video did help! The packets of candy are very vibrant which reflects the candy inside too. The blue one did look a little like blu tack so I had to check that it was candy and not a thing for sculpting blu tack!! I have to say that the flavour of the candy was not to my taste as it was a bit strong and sour for me and I also struggled a bit with the modelling but then that could be because I have a bad hand at the moment. The mold is quite tiny so I am not sure how my fat digits would fair but I do know some little hands who would probably love it. I don't have the patience to make my candy into shapes either, I just want to eat it. I do think it would probably make a great gift for kids especially if you need to keep them occupied too!

Very lastly I received a plush watermelon coin purse. I do like watermelon's not only to eat but to draw and I have shared by kawaii watermelon drawings before! Like the Hello Kitty charm, this little cutie is also very well made and the fabric feels very thick and again this is also very tactile. The zip opens all the way and the whole purse is very roomy, I was able to put my mobile phone inside so there is lots of room for all your pennies, I love it!

I have been really impressed with all the items that I have received from Blippo and I would definitely reccommend them to you. You know I only reccommend products and companies that I truly and genuinely love, I promise you that!

PLEASE NOTE: I was given the items mentioned in this blog post by Blippo in exchange for my honest review and opinion, the fact that I was given these does not alter my opinion in anyway. All opinions are my own and given in good faith. The photography unless otherwise stated / credited is also my own. None of the links are affiliate links.

Blippo are very kindly offering a giveaway of some Kawaii items to my readers. What can you win? Well firstly are these super cute popsicle earrings, next is the cake pendant and lastly is the Blythe notepaper. I love those earrings, makes me wish I still had my ears pierced although I could always take them apart and turn them into planner charms...
