Project life spread

Hello everyone! It's Zinia here to share with you a project life spread I created using some really lovely products from my August 2016 stationery Brimbles Box.

Anna designed some really beautiful 3x4 cards for this month's boxes but you can also create your own custom cards by using the other products that are included in the box.

The box actually had a beautiful 12x12 sheet of paper by Shimelle but it was a bit too bold to use it as is. So I decided to fussy cut one of the tea cups from the pattern and stick it on top of another paper from my stash.

Another way to create a custom card is to use stickers. The boxes this month included a few different types of stickers but for my spread, I decided to use the Shimelle phrase and alpha stickers. I chose phrases and colors that matched with the rest of my spread and added a few lines of them in the middle of the card.

I also wanted to include some of the beautiful wahi tapes that were included in my box so I covered a blank card with strips of the pink floral tape. I left a small area empty to fit my journaling.

To embellish it a bit further I fussy cut the bunting piece and stuck it between the journaling and the washi.

That's it. I hope you inspired to create something beyond your planners with the beautiful bits from your Brimbles boxes. They are always so versatile.

Scrapbook Layouts with Zinia

Hello everyone it's Zinia here from Abstract Inspiration and today I want to share with you a project I created using the July 2016 stationery Brimbles Box. Now I do understand that the boxes are mainly created for planning but when I saw these beautiful 12x12 exclusive papers I couldn't help myself so I went ahead and created a scrapbook layout.

I actually decided to also play with some mixed media supplies. By the way if you didn't notice, Anna added a bunch of amazing mixed media supplies in her shop recently and I'm using some of them in this layout.

I used one of the pattern papers as a base and I covered the middle area with a very thin layer of gesso. Then I picked some Dylusions paints in Bubblegum Pink and Fresh Lime and I colored a small amount of texture paste. I also created a third color using one of the Tattered Angels Gimmer Mists that I had in my stash.

I applied the colored texture paste on my page through a stencil, creating three lines of color. Once the texture paste was dry, I used matching mist colors with the packaging technique to add some more color on top of the stenciled images.

Then I grabbed a bunch of the ephemera pieces and arranged them on the page following the mixed media colors. I really liked the ice cream that Anna design on the cut apart paper so I decided to cut it out and then use a correction pen to go around and cover the black outline to make it match the design of the ephemera pieces better.

So thatís it. I hope you got inspired to do something fun with your Brimbles box supplies, see you again soon.

Creating a Mini Scrapbook

Hello everyone it's Zinia here from Abstract Inspiration. Today I want to share with you a fun little project I created using my May stationery box and although it's branded as "stationery" that doesn't mean you can't use the goodies for a bunch of different crafts.

When I first saw the sticker sheets that were included in the box I knew that I wanted to create a minibook with them. The past year my dad has really been into gardening and he transformed our terrace into a little paradise. So I wanted to add the photos of this transformation into a little DIY album.

To go with the stickers, I picked some 4x4 cards and frames I had in my stash from an old We R Memory Keepers collection called "Farmer's Market". I was pleasantly surprised to see the stickers matching perfectly with the colors and patterns of that collection.

I mounted some of the stickers on foam dots to add some more dimension and interest to the pages. I also occasionally added some strips of washi tape. The black and white polka dot was actually included in the October Brimbles Box of last year.

As you can see I didn't really do a lot more than just adding the stickers to embellish the cards. The designs are so pretty that I didn't need to struggle and over embellish them.

The "stories" sticker is also from an older box. You would probably have a hard time guessing which one it was so I'll just say it. It was the November box which was actually Christmas themed. There are so many Christmas and holiday themed supplies you can totally use all year round†it's fascinating.

I punched to holes on the side of the cards and tied them together with some thin rope. I really love the look of it. It was an extremely fun and easy project to put together. If you don't have printed cards you can totally do something similar on plain cardstock. These stickers are so freaking adorable that will make anything look pretty.

So thatís it. I hope you got inspired to do something fun with your Brimbles box supplies, see you again soon.

Decorating my Happy Planner

Hello everyone! It's Zinia here and I'm joining you today to show you how I used my May stationery Brimbles box to decorate the monthly spread in my Happy Planner. Before I get to that though, I want to take a moment and say that this is my most favorite Brimbles Box to date! I mean who can resist to these gorgeous Pebbles stickers!

The monthly calendar for May in my Happy Planner is actually purple. That makes it quiet hard to find matching decorations since purple is not a very popular colors in the craft world. The thing is you don't necessarily need purplish things to decorate a purple page. Actually It's way better if you don't since the page has enough purple by itself. So the best color to compliment purple is obviously it's complementary, yellow.

I used some of the gorgeous yellow flowers and floral clusters from the 'Home Grown' sticker sheet and also a little bird sticker from the 'Front Porch' collection. Those few stickers alone made the spread feel magical.

To add some more fun elements to this spread, I decided to use the gold confetti washi tape (my new favorite) and add small strips in the days that I have projects to publish. To finish off my planning, I used my self-made color coding stickers to add my projects and deadlines. I think it's really fun to color code your monthly spread because it is a sort of decoration by itself and makes everything look prettier.

So that's it. I hope you got inspired to do something fun with your Brimbles box supplies, see you again soon.

How to use your stickers in a different way

Hello fellow planner nerds! It’s Zinia here today and I’m really excited to join you once again and share some planner tips and tricks.

I’m sure most of you already know that this month we welcomed a brand new subscription in the Brimbles family, the Sticker Club! As the name suggests it’s an amazing collection of stickers you can use in your planners, journals or any other paper crafts. I really loved my April sticker box and all the wonderful sticker sheets it included.

So since the sticker club box is something new, I thought I’d share with you an idea on how to use your stickers in a different way than just sticking them down to decorate your pages. This idea works really great with the emoji stickers that came in most of the April boxes.

We are going to make paper clips out of stickers! As I said it works best for stickers with simple shapes that you can put back to back.

You are going to need some paper clips, a hot glue gun (or some other strong adhesive) and of course stickers. The process is extremely simple. Just stick one sticker on top of your paper clip, flip it over, add some hot glue and sandwich the glue with another sticker of the same size and shape.

If you want to use a sticker that’s not working good if you flip it, you can punch a small circle and use it to sandwich the glue. This way your paper clips will be single sided but they can still be super adorable.

The emoji stickers look absolutely adorable because their shapes fit nicely. Also the Sea Salt & Paper stickers that were included in the sticker club subscription have some beautiful simple shapes you can use.

For those who didn’t get the sticker subscription, you can make your paper clips out of Anna’s exclusive stickers for this month, the bows that are included in the sheet have exactly the same size and match perfectly.

You can also do the same thing with page flags. The pencil flags that were included in this month’s boxes are really fun to use. Just make sure to cover the whole area with hot glue to make sure it stays in place and also to reinforce it a bit since it’s just a thin piece of paper and can get damaged if you just use your tape runner.

Fauxdori Insert Decoration

Hello wonderful planner addicts! Itís Zinia here again and today I want to share with you how I decorated my Foxydori using the March stationery Brimbles Box.

Since I generally keep my decorations minimal to have plenty of space for my planning, I decided to use the washi tapes that came in my box in a different way.

So since the washi tapes that were included in my box were sort of Easter themed and I didnít feel like going for that style in my planner, I decided to punch tiny circles from my washi tape and create abstract decorative stickers. I tried to cut through the designs so you canít really tell anymore it was a bunny or an egg, you just see lovely colors and patterns.

I also used the amazing bunny stickers that Anna designed for this month to give some more interest to my little clusters of washi stickers.

As far as planning goes, I used the adorable stickers we got by Craftiní Chaos. The colors are really so darling and Iíve always been a huge fan of drop shaped stickers.

I also paper-clipped a page of the notepad to keep temporary notes and to-do lists for long term projects so I can just move it on my next week if there are still things to be done.

To add a little extra detail to my spread I used one of my most favorite Studio L2e stamp sets, Get it Girl 2, to add some motivational words.

So this is how I add little bits of decoration in my Foxydori while still keeping a lot of space for my daily to-do lists. I really hope you enjoyed, until next time, happy planning :).

Matching perfectly with my kikki.K planner

Hello everyone, it's Zinia here again and today I though I'd give you a quick look of how I used my February Brimbles Box in my kikki.K lilac A5 planner. When I first saw the sneaks of this box, I knew already that I had to get the A5 one cause the colors match perfectly with my kikki.K planner.
I really loved the amount of exclusive items that we got this month. Every little piece was absolutely beautiful. Of course the first thing I did once I received the box was to put in the dashboard and rainbow charm.

mrsb-feb-01

You can really see how these pastel shades of purple and pink match with the color of the planner and the dividers. So here's the thing, in this planner I organize my crafty projects and my design team work so I keep things really simple. I only use very minimal decorations but still I can't resist to some unicorn magic.

mrsb-feb-03

I'm absolutely in love with the funfetti washi tape. It's like the cupcake frosting for your planner!

mrsb-feb-05

Another absolutely gorgeous item from this month's box were the exclusive stickers by Sea Salt & Paper. In just a single sheet there were so many different types of stickers to cover any planning need. I really loved the little hexagons and the more colorful pieces!

mrsb-feb-04

Since I didn't want to cover up a lot of my page, I cut one of Anna's exclusive sticky notes in half and added it on the top of my week. It makes the cutest mini portable to-do list!
Ok before I go I want to fangirl for a moment on the most adorable pencil I ever owned.

mrsb-feb-06

It always brings a smile on my face when I see the pencil on my desk.
So that's my little weekly spread (plus a couple of extras) using this magical planner box. Hope you loved your box as much as I loved mine. Until next time, happy planning!

January Planner Set up with Zinia

Hello everyone, it's  Zinia here joining you once again to share how I used my January Brimbles Box to make my planner sparkle. I'm sure you already know that January boxes were so freaking gorgeous. That black, white and gold combination is so perfect and totally classy. For this month I received the A5 planner box and I'm so happy I chose that because this color palette looks magical in my lilac kikki.K.
  mrsb-jan2016-01

I really wanted to bring some of the black in my planner so I used one of the gold foiled paper bags and added it inside on of the pockets. I was very excited to find out that the size fit perfectly! Since it was a bit tall, I secured it on it's place with some gold bow paperclips. I find it extremely adorable how the tiny bow clip that was included in the box looks like the child of the Kate Spade clip.

  mrsb-jan2016-02

I'm in love with the simplicity of the dashboard this month but I felt it needed a tiny bit of spark to balance all the gold that I have in my pockets so I took a little piece of the glitter washi tape and cut a banner to add on it. It's such a small detail but I felt it brings everything together.
  mrsb-jan2016-03

On the back side of my dashboard I decided to stick another one of the paper bags to hold some of my favorite goodies to use in the planner. I just used some repositionable adhesive just so I can remove it later if I want to without ripping the bag or the dashboard.
  mrsb-jan2016-04

Inside the bag I tucked the Heidi Swapp notes and some extra tiny bow paper clips.

I really hope you got some ideas and inspiration on how you can use your January goodies. As always feel free to stay in touch:
