The Letter Bee for Stationery lovers, journallers and snail mailers

I was contacted by ine of my lovely subscribers, Patty of Furthermore Press who asked if I would like to review one of her new Letter Bee Boxes for her. The Letter Bee box is aimed at stationery lovers, journallers and pen pal peeps so as I am all three of those I thought this sounded right up my street he he!

Your best bet my dears is to watch the video unboxing as this shows the magnitude of the box in it's full glory. You will see just how the box seems to be never ending and the items just keep coming and coming. That and I also ruined some of the beautiful presentation in the unboxing so it doesn't look quite as good in the photos as it does / did when I unboxed it.

What did I receive?

Are you ready for all the photos? So as I said there is tons more not shown, these are just a few of the items or the 'main' items as it were. To start with there was a card which details all of the items that were in the box

And then there was this lot of lovliness!

So what do I think?

I loved it! I have to say you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into curating this box and everything has it's own little label or card and I really like that attention to detail. It is like a gift that just keeps on giving as the box really is packed with bits and bobs and I can see myself using all of the items when I write to pen pals as I have pen pals who ADORE owls! The downside is that now my pen pals have seen this unboxing they are going to expect ellaborately decorated packages now for sure he he!

I love the box and all the contents and it is the same old story that it is the shipping that bites, hard! I know from my own boxes and Etsy that is the one thing that everyone moans about yet it is the one thing you can do nothing about! So that being said if you are in the US you get a cracking box of bits for a really good price but if you are in the UK this does make it that much pricier and so the cost is just something you will have to work out if it is viable for you or not. I think the box on it's own is worth it though.

I like all the handmade items and little touches and you can see the amount of work that has gone into putting it together for sure. In her email to me Patty said:
"A close friend told me the other day that she was going to start using the secretary/desk she inherited from her Mother. Stock it with all the pretty stationery items from my boxes and start writing letters and cards. That is exactly what the Letter Bee box is all about, and that makes me very happy."
and you know what that has stuck with me. I for one have always wanted a bureau and I always look at them when we go to antique or rummagey places and I do see them and always lust after them but never know where I would put one. So that very statement / text / paragraph really struck a chord with me and it is exactly the sort of impression you are left with and the feeling evoked from this box. You know what I can just imagine all of these bits and pieces in all the cubby holes of a bureau!

This is the sort of thing I want and imagine. Mr B just thinks I will take over the entire house with my supplies he he! I probably would! But seriously can't you just imagine those note cards and things in those sections, I certainly can!

More information on the box..

The cost of the box for U.S. customers is $35.00US Dollars - which includes shipping. For international customers the box intself costs $30 and then you pay for the shipping on top. In the UK the shipping is $22.50 so that makes the total to be $55.50 or in GBP at the current exchange rate it is £34.73. If you are outside of the USA and UK then please contact Patty to enquire about shipping costs.

Boxes are available for purchase through Patty's etsy store (https://www.etsy.com/shop/furthermorepress) There are some cut off dates for boxes which is around the 20th of each month so just bear that in mind and all boxes ship between 25th and the last day of the month.

If you are a first time customer, Patty will send you a questionnaire to ask you about colour preferences and things like that which will come to you in your first box. All boxes are themed and are different each month.

Every box contains the same items ( exception below) although things like stickers may be a different pattern. And box items are tailored to the recipients based on their questionnaire answers (as best as they can within the theme). US customers will receive both vintage and First Class postage, enough to mail 3- 1oz cards or letters and 2 postcards. International customers will receive an extra item instead of the postage and the substitution will be written on the box contents sheet included with each box.

There will be a Petite Letter Bee box listed in Patty's etsy shop soon that is not based on a monthly theme and will be much less expensive. It will not contain as many items or as many handmade items.  It will be smaller in size so shipping will be less for International too.  Also many of the items in the box are sold individually in Patty's etsy shop too.
